Editor's Letter - What a Difference

Editor's Letter - What a Difference We know just how much planning, organizing and running around goes into making your wedding a day you’ll remember forever. Every time we put an issue of Fairfield County Weddings to bed it feels as if we have actually planned a wedding ourselves. As I write this, we’re busy putting the final touches on each page and story — one last primp if you will. At the end of it all, we’ll do exactly what you’ll soon do: sit back, wonder how it all got done and smile with relief and fond memories.

For you and us, however, the days leading up to the main event are filled with decisions, excitement and, let’s be honest, a certain level of anxiety. You want your wedding to be beautiful, special and unique. And it will be, because there are any number of ways to make your day stand out. On a sliding scale of grandeur, I’ve seen weddings that range from the truly over-the-top (the family friend who had a professional private fireworks display to commemorate her oceanfront Fourth of July wedding) to the unexpectedly unique (the college
roommate who had a traditional Korean dancer perform at her reception) to the downright sentimental (the friend who, instead of throwing her bouquet, presented it to the couple who had been married the longest — her grandparents). The list goes on, but you get the point.
And so do we.

We’re here to spark ideas and help make your day an affair to remember. Our “Small Talk” and “Style Pages” are filled with ideas. Consider an old-fashioned photo booth for your reception, a cool getaway car or fun flip-flops as favors. Take a cue from the forty local brides featured in our “Wedding Album” as well as the collection of brides who went completely over-the-top in “Vow to Be Different”. From the shores of the Mediterranean to the beaches of Fairfield County, each and every one of them created memories that will last a lifetime — just as you soon will.
